Summer is in-bound in Colorado and we can’t wait! And, while Arvada does a lot of things really well, summer is one of the things we do best. We know how to turn up the summer heat and how to keep cool when it gets too hot. So, unpack your shorts, dig out your flip-flops and get your swim suit ready - summer is coming to Arvada. Farmer’s Market| Olde Town Square | Sundays from June 7 to September 27 | 9am to 1:30pm. Celebrate local food, thank all the amazing farmers and food producers, and stock up on what you need at the Arvada market!

Bike Friendly Arvada | Locations, times and routes vary. Get your bikes out for some magical trips in and around Arvada. Rides are for all levels (unless noted) with experienced riders leading each ride.

‍FREE Yoga in the Park | McIlvoy Park | Every Sunday at 9am. Start your weekends with peace, breath, and movement in the sunshine with Gray Yoga and Olde Town Arvada! Kicking off Saturday, June 6! 

Arvada Flour Mill Museum Tours | Arvada Flour Mill | Sundays from June through September | Tours leave at 10am and 11am. A tour guide will take you through this rare, uniquely preserved historic mill and show you how wheat was milled into flour using an ingenious design by Eugene Emory Benjamin. You’ll also learn about a simpler Arvada in the first half of the 20th century. Come immerse yourself in the past while supporting our mission to keep the mill alive! No tours on July 5, August 2 and August 30.

Cussler Museum | May through September, Thursdays, Fridays and the first Saturday of every month. Dedicated to the preservation of astounding, rare, and vintage automobiles from all over the world. This extensive collection of over 100 significant automobiles, ranging in years from 1906 to 1965, was started by renowned best-selling author Clive Cussler. ‍ ‍

FREE Garden Classes | Arvada Community Garden | 6pm. Get your tips from the experts! Check the calendar for specific topics.

Pints and Pistons Cruise Nights | Odyssey Beerwerks | First and third Wednesdays of the month at 4pm to 9pm. Hop in your hot rod and cruise down to Odyssey Beerwerks for our Pints and Pistons Cruise Night! Open to all makes and models, including motorcycles. If it's got a motor, bring it down! (Dates: May 20, June 3 and 17, July 1 and 15, August 5 and 19, September 2 and 16). This is a 21+ event.

Tired Swim Family Happy Hour | LUKI Brewery | Saturdays from May 30 to July 26 from noon to 3pm. For all the dedicated swim families - stop by for 2 beers, 2 sodas and 2 pretzels for just $20.

Party on the Platform | G Line Platform in Olde Town Arvada | 7am to 9am. The G Line returns to service every 15 minutes and we want to celebrate! Stop by for a complimentary grab-n-go breakfast from Snooze in Arvada (including coffee and fresh-made juices), get to know My Book Cellar and the Great Harvest Bakery and Cafe, and enjoy live music from Carlos Guitarlos. Wonderful Wednesday: Polynesian Dance Troupe | Clear Creek Valley Park | 10am to 12pm. Enjoy the songs, dances, and stories of the islands with the Rocky Mountain Polynesian Dance Troupe. This event features the Hyland Hills’ Rec N Roll truck and free Kona Ice while supplies last, courtesy of the Hyland Hills Foundation.

Cactus Terrarium 101 Workshop | Sage Spade | 5pm to 6pm. In this intro-level terrarium workshop, you will learn how to make a small cacti terrarium or enclosed tropical terrarium (check dates offered on our website for class type). Participants must be 18 years or older, or those 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult. 1 ticket per participant.

Sunset Baby Goat Yoga | The Community Farm | 6:30pm. Experience a peaceful sunset with Baby Goat Yoga! Relax, stretch, and enjoy the calming presence of playful baby goats as the sun sets.

JUNE 13

Kid’s Fishing Contest | Arvada-Blunn Reservoir | 7am to 11am. Bring the kids out for some shore fishing! There will be prizes, trophies and raffles, too!

All-Out Summer Breeze | Stenger Sports Complex | 7am to 11am. Run/walk along the Van Bibber Trail in this Boulder Bolder qualifying event. This event also celebrates community and inclusion while also benefiting the Food Bank of the Rockies.

Neighborhood Walks | Danny Kendrick Park East | 8:30am to 9:30am. Neighborhood Walks provides an opportunity to get outside, learn about Arvada and connect with people in the community. This will result in creating a stronger and better place to live.

Drag Queen Story Time with Miss Shirley | Arvada Center | 10am. An accomplished storyteller, Miss Shirley uses stories to celebrate the diversity of our big, beautiful world through the glamorous art of drag. Miss Shirley leads an interactive storytime with questions, personal stories, and a special Q&A segment, “Ask the Drag Queen.” Guests will also have the chance to take photos with Miss Shirley, capturing the colorful vibe of Pride.

Allen House Research Archival Center | Historic Allen House | 11am to 2pm. The Arvada Historical Society is proud to invite our community to the free grand opening of the Allen House Library and Archival Center which will serve as a museum, research library and archival center for the entire community.

Margaritaville Pig Roast | Freedom Street Social | 4pm to 9pm. Chef Oscar and Chef Enrique go head-to-head, roasting whole pigs with all the island-style fixings. With a Jimmy Buffett tribute band playing all night, expect good eats, cold drinks, and zero worries.

Cars N Brews | Resolute Tap & Cellar | 4:30pm to 7pm. Take a pit stop and fuel your tank with some Resolute brews while checking out some sweet rides. Participants get $1 off your beer during the event! Bring your ride, your crew, and your love for a good time. It's more than a meet-up -- it's where the car community comes to hang.

Second Saturdays Summer Concert Series and Street Festival | Olde Town Arvada | 5pm to 9pm. Don’t miss bands on two stages, artisan vendors, food trucks, beverages and an awesome dedicated kids zone.

Second Sunday Maker’s Market | Sage Spade | 10am to 1pm. Arvada’s can’t-miss mashup of local vendors, music, food trucks, and family fun! Held on the second Sunday of each month from June through September, this vibrant market features locally made goods, handmade crafts, art, jewelry, home décor, plants, gifts, and more from talented Colorado makers.

Summer Market | Common Barber Club | 1am to 3pm. Come enjoy food trucks, drinks, local vendors and some summer fun!

Madam Hair with the Denver Gay Men’s Chorus | Arvada Center | 3pm. Promising to be a high-energy show, Madam Hair celebrates the beauty and significance of hair – a vital part of gender expression, identity, and culture for many, especially within the LGBTQIA+ community.

Whiskey Tasting & Chocolate Pairing | Bluegrass Lounge Olde Town | 4pm to 6pm. Whiskey, chocolate, s’mores, and live music—join Denver&CO. at Bluegrass Lounge for a Sunday patio tasting experience.

Summer Concert Series: Wicked Addicted Band | McIlvoy Park | 7pm to 8:30pm. Come out and enjoy rock and roll from the 70s, 80s and 90s, Bring a canned good for the Community Table. This is a free event.

National Root Beer Day | Community Recreation Center | 9:30am to 11am. Sip, smile and socialize while enjoying classic root beer floats and refreshments while visiting with our community sponsors. We thank our Active Adult sponsors. Free, but advance registration is appreciated.

Roots & Rebellion: A Mermaid Walking Runway Experience | Mermaid Walking | 4:30pm to 6pm. Kick off summer with a night of bold fashion, fierce women, and unapologetic American spirit in the heart of Olde Town. Featuring local business owners, community leaders, creatives, and powerhouse women from right here in our own backyard, this event is all about celebrating the women who make our community stronger, brighter, kinder, and more alive.

All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to The Center on Colfax in support of Colorado’s LGBTQ+ community.

Summer Concert Series: Dreamboat Annie | Clear Creek Valley Park | 7pm to 9pm. Hyland Hills Park and Recreation District’s annual Summer Concert Series returns! Bring your dancing shoes and a lawn chair or blanket. Food trucks will be on-site and we will have beer and water for sale.

Summer Concert Series - Magdo Music | Secrest Park | 9:30am to 11:15am. Featuring high-energy, interactive children’s music. This is a FREE EVENT.

Tipsy Terrarium Workshop - Tropical | Sage Spade | 5pm to 6pm. In this intro-level terrarium workshop you will learn how to make a small enclosed tropical terrarium or a small open cacti terrarium. Tipsy Terrarium classes are 1hr long and come with two drink coupons that can be traded for a variety of beer, seltzer, and wine selections. All participants must be above the age of 21 to participate. ID verification required at beginning of the workshop.

Fitness Expo | Colorado Tap House | 8:30am to 8:30pm. It's the 4th Annual Fitness Expo On Tap event! With various local fitness-related vendors, a free fun run 5k, free yoga, a Beer Mile Run, plus food trucks and LIVE MUSIC.... There's something for everyone! 

Birding for Families | Majestic View Nature Center | 9am to 10pm. Bring the kids for this family birding excursion. We’ll walk at a kid’s pace while we look for birds, learn about their unique adaptations, and nurture a curiosity for the natural world in participants of all ages. Child-friendly binoculars will be available; register in advance to receive the location.

Pollinator Garden Tour | Majestic View Nature Center | 9am to 1pm. You can tour the gardens in any order and visit as many (or as few) as you like. Plan about 20 minutes per stop if you’d like to see all gardens. The tour concludes at Majestic View Nature Center, where participants who visit all gardens can collect a special prize.

Arvada Fire Fundraiser and Old Dodge Red Ale Release | Odyssey Beerwerks | 2pm. Join our local heroes from Arvada Fire for another year of celebrating their service and dedication to our community! There will be a silent auction benefitting the Arvada Firefighters Foundation with items from our friends around the community, and the legendary Old Dodge Fire Truck will be on display. Raise a pint and let's raise some money for our firefighters! This is a 21+ event.

JULY 4

Donut Hole Mile | Colorado Tap House | 10am. Kind of like a beer Mile but you eat progressively more donut holes before on each leg... 1 donut hole before the 1st quarter mile, 2 before the 2nd, 3 before you run your 3rd quarter mile and, of course, 4 right before you head out for the last leg of the mile for a grand total of 10 donut holes! Each runner will consume 5 glazed and 5 chocolate donut holes.

Kid’s Pre-Bash | Arvada Beer Garden | 11am to 4pm. Swing by before fireworks for face painting, tattoo station, coloring activites, bubbles and more kid fun!

4th of July Fireworks Display | Stenger Sports Complex | Gates open at 6:30pm, show starts around 9:15pm. Come enjoy Arvada’s fireworks display. Food trucks will be open, or you may bring your own grill. Please use the link to learn all rules and regulations.

Wonderful Wednesday: Taiko | Clear Creek Valley Park | 10am to 12pm. Free mini-concerts designed for preschool through 3rd grade, every second Wednesday of the month! Thrill to the thunderous sounds of the traditional Japanese drum, the taiko. Toni Yagami brings an exciting “Matsuri” (Japanese festival) to the stage.

Comedy Night | Ralston Crossing | 7:30pm to 9pm. Join Slap Happy Entertainment and Phil Palisoul for a night of laughs.

JULY 9

Taste of Arvada | Apex Center | 5pm to 8pm. You know it's summer when it’s the Taste of Arvada! Enjoy a tasty evening where culinary creativity meets community celebration. Tickets go FAST, don’t wait to get yours!

Mountain Moments | Majestic View Nature Center | Monthly from 7am to 9am. Looking to start your day connecting with nature in the beauty of the Rocky Mountains? Join a guided hike that blends nature education and scenic exploration over an average of 2-3 miles, with chances for uneven terrain and moderate elevation gain. Locations will be shared with registered participants the week of to allow you to plan your drive. All hikes will be in Jefferson County.

Hoya 101: Re-poot & Soil Mixing Class | Sage Spade | 5pm to 6pm. This hands-on plant workshop is designed for both new and experienced Hoya lovers! During this workshop, you’ll dive into the essentials of creating the perfect soil mix, learn why high-quality soil is key to healthy growth, and discover the best techniques for potting, trellising, and caring for your Hoya.

Movies Around Town: Labyrinth | Terrace Park | 7:30pm. Get there early to enjoy live music before settling in to watch the movie on the giant inflatable screen. The movie will begin at dusk. 

Astronomy Night: Gems of the Summer Sky | Majestic View Nature Center | 8pm to 10pm. Begin the evening with a night sky orientation (8-9 PM) - learn what celestial objects are visible, how to find them, and have a chance to ask your questions. Space is limited - registration required. Join us afterwards for a star party (9-10 PM) with telescopes in the garden, free and no registration required.

JULY 18

Pollinator Pals: Bees! | Majestic View Nature Center | 9am to 10:30am. Explore Colorado pollinators with family-friendly, hands-on activities and discover new insects and animals each month. In June we’ll focus on butterflies and moths, and in July we’ll explore bees.

Luau and Pig Roast | Colorado Tap House | 1pm. Enjoy a festive day of island-inspired fun featuring live music by Tribal Dantz at 1 PM, a Polynesian dancer at 3 PM, and a FREE silent disco from 5:45 to 8:45 PM. Feast on a $20 pig roast plate with BBQ beans, Hawaiian slaw, a sweet roll, and watermelon. Then sip on tropical favorites like piña coladas, mai tais, and pain killers - all at our Tiki Bar down in the games area, which will also have beer! And enjoy samples and swag from Bear Creek Distillery!

Colorado Jazz Concert with Veronica Swift | Arvada Center | 7:30pm to 10pm. The Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra big band welcomes international recording artist Veronica Swift to the Arvada Center Amphitheater.

Tropical Terrarium 101 Workshop | Sage Spade | 2pm to 3pm. In this intro-level terrarium workshop, you will learn how to make a small enclosed tropical terrarium or open air cacti terrarium (check dates offered on our website). We’ll guide you through shaping the soil, wrapping and securing the moss, and assembling a balanced, healthy plant that you’ll take home with you.

Tipsy Terrarium Workshop - Tropical | Sage Spade | 5pm to 6pm. In this intro-level terrarium workshop you will learn how to make a small enclosed tropical terrarium or a small open cacti terrarium.
