Arvada Press: TeeLee Floral and Events brightens up Olde Town with locally-sourced blooms
One of Olde Town Arvada’s oldest buildings is getting a flowery refresh, as TeeLee Floral and Events has moved into the historic former mayor’s residence at 5613 Olde Wadsworth Boulevard.
TeeLee was founded five years ago in Golden and primarily focused on wedding and event flower services until recently. About a year ago, Owner ScheLeese Goudy was looking for a creative opportunity when she got involved with the company and decided to expand its offerings on the retail side of things.
“The majority of our business has been weddings and events, and we'd been in an industrial space (in Golden),” Goudy said. “So, we have a really great business built around that…but I really wanted to move into a space where we could do more retail.”
Goudy enlisted the help of her mom, Michelle Delport, who now serves as TeeLee’s lead designer and shop manager, and began looking for a new location that could house the shop’s established event services and expand its other offerings, which include retail bouquets, vases, home goods and classes.
“I love people, and I wanted to be around people and have more options to interact with them on a daily basis,” Goudy said. “I really wanted to grow the business on the retail side of things and set community roots…We have some friends that already had businesses here, and they've always spoken so highly of the Arvada downtown area.”
