Four “ambassadors” will be stationed in Olde Town starting on Oct. 1, as part of Arvada’s effort to address safety and cleanliness concerns in the historic district. The ambassadors will be provided by Block By Block, a Louisville, Kentucky-based organization that seeks to improve public spaces.

Ambassadors will be stationed in Odle Town from 1 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays. Some of their responsibilities include trash removal, collecting misplaced shopping carts, power washing streets, and connecting unhoused residents with navigation services.

The city recently announced that it has helped 65 unhoused individuals in Olde Town get into housing, which some stakeholders say has resulted in fewer “visible homeless” people in the historic district.
