They say the third time is the charm. And this place has all that and more. You really need to stand out in a town full of delicious taco joints. Cochino Tacos fits right in at the northwest corner of Olde Town. Owner Johnny Ballen continues to get it right with fresh, delicious food, intriguing cocktails and more.

TLDR (too long, didn’t read): it’s all bueno. Solid menu with something for everyone, great drinks, fantastic patio, and a fun and relaxed vibe.

As graduates from quarantine sourdough have found new life in house plants, the need for dealers has grown. We’d all love a houseplant, but what kind? Where do I get one? Can I keep it alive? Venture out to the Stalk Market for all things house plant-related, including advice, accessories and more.

TLDR: Great variety of plants here and owners who know what they’re doing. The Stalk Market is minimal risk for a fun gift or if you’re new to house plants.


Freedom Street Food Hall in Arvada

Ready for a bit of freedom? Put this food hall on your list as a potential new favorite spot. This will be THE place to meet, eat, and treat (yourself). Freedom will include vendors for breakfast, chicken, desserts, coffee, pizza and more—bonus for a still-growing list of events like music, trivia, movies, etc.

Arvada Colorado Tap House

OPENING SOON: Colorado Tap House | 14982 W. 69th Ave

Colorado native owners Erik and Jen had this great idea to open a super chill place that will feature all locally sourced Colorado bevies. Throw in a couple of patios and a location right on Ralston Creek, and you have a home run.

TLDR: DOG FRIENDLY, what else would you need to know? Also, locally produced beer, wine and spirits in a family and bike-friendly setting.


NOW OPEN: Flannel Jax | 7270B West 88th Avenue

Flannel Jax Axe Throwing Arvada

Billed as “Extreme. Social. Fun” Flannel Jax is all that and a little more. Grab an ax and start throwing or try out some other lumberjack and lumber jill sports. The flannel is not required or provided, but you won’t need it to have fun here.

TLDR: Axe throwing and stuff for you and your friends. Not a bad way to spend an evening!


Teocalli Cocina Arvada Mexican Cuisine

OPEN NOW: Teocalli Cocina | 5770 Olde Wadsworth Blvd

These guys are pros at making Mexican dishes that go well beyond what you've eaten before. Their menu captures the nuance of traditional and regional Mexican cuisine with fresh, exciting, and approachable dishes.

TLDR: "A modern shrine to regional Mexican cuisine." You can feel comfortable trying something new here; it's all delicious. The same goes for the drink menu. Cheers!
