A cold front has come to the Arvada Center with an exciting production of Disney’s iconic musical, Frozen! A longtime family favorite, Disney’s Frozen tells a story of sisterhood, friendship, and self-acceptance. From the award-winning soundtrack to beloved characters, Disney’s Frozen is a must-see winter-time classic!
It’s designed, directed, and acted by Colorado locals, including some familiar faces! The pivotal role of Elsa is being played by none other than Anne Terze-Schwarz, who you may know from her lead role in last year's production of Waitress. The cast also includes Jennasea Pearce as Anna, a brand new face on the Center’s stage! These fictional sisters are also portrayed by six young actors, with a few of the pairings being real-life siblings.
The musical and the 2013 animated movie that came before it are adaptations of a mid-1800s fairy tale. Written by Hans Christian Andersen in 1844, the fantasy known as “The Snow Queen” follows a young girl who must go on a journey through an unfamiliar world in order to save her best friend. Sound familiar? While the Frozen we know and love has evolved from the original story, it maintains the themes of discovering yourself and bonds that go beyond any differences.
It’s the ultimate family activity. Running from November 21 all the way to January 4, Disney’s Frozen offers a wide range of dates and times to experience musical magic with family and friends of all ages. Whether you’re a fan of the movie, the Broadway production, or the Center itself, these performances will have something for everyone. This production does run 2.5 hours, and is recommended for kids ages 4 and up
Dazzling sets and costumes accompany award-winning music. Designed, constructed and installed in-house, the set pieces, props, and costumes you’ll see on stage are sure to impress. In perfect harmony, these all partner with the music many have come to love, including songs like “Let it Go” and “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?”
It’s the perfect way to get into the winter spirit! Whether you’re in town from somewhere warmer or preparing to hibernate till April, this production of Disney’s Frozen is sure to get you ready for the colder days ahead.
