Arvada Press: New burger joint inside New Image Brewing provides ‘explosive’ tastes

One of the smallest kitchens in Arvada is earning quite a reputation among locals and Denver foodies alike.
Arty’s Express — a concept brought forth by Little Arthur’s Hoagies founder AJ Shreffler — is bringing fans of its popular burgers and their hosts New Image Brewing’s craft beers alike.
Arty’s opened inside New Image in mid-December after the brewery’s farm-to-table venture, Table, failed to find its audience.
Butch Gregg, New Image’s general manager, said that after that venture, the brewery decided to pivot.
“I think the one thing that Table did was almost kind of alienate the people that love coming here,” Gregg said. “We lost that family dynamic.”
Their approach to winning people back? Burgers.
“Little Arthur’s (founder Shreffler) came in and he had this huge passion for this small concept that he had been thinking about for a while, and that was Arty’s Express,” Gregg said. “And for whatever reason, it all just kind of clicked and worked. He could come in and do it almost immediately, and people responded really well to it.”
Shreffler is originally from the Philadelphia area and earned a viral following after moving to Denver and starting Little Arthur’s Hoagies out of his apartment. After his day job, Shreffler would come home and make hoagies and cheesesteaks to order, often selling out in minutes.
