Excalibur Outreach is inviting folks to eat ice cream for a good cause, hosting an ice cream social on Aug. 1 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Scrumptious in Olde Town Arvada, the proceeds of which will benefit the nonprofit, which helps underserved children in the local community.
The Be Kind Ice Cream social will feature live music, family-friendly entertainment, an interactive kindness station, The Human B. Kind Pop-Up Shop and more.
The first 50 attendees will receive complimentary ice cream, and a portion of ice cream sales after that will benefit Excalibur.
Brian Collins, Founder and Executive Director of Excalibur Outreach, said he hopes the ice cream social — which is free to the public — will inspire folks to be kind to each other.
"The Kind Cream Social is about creating moments where strangers become neighbors and
kindness becomes contagious," Collins said. "Whether someone comes for the ice cream, the music, the local shops, or simply to spend time with family, our hope is that everyone leaves inspired to make their community just a little bit better."
Scrumptious will be offering five special edition flavors of pastel ice cream for the occasion. Owner Scott Spears said he has enjoyed working with Excalibur in the past and is looking forward to the ice cream social.
