9 News: Raise a glass and hit the streets in Olde Town Arvada

9 News | Melissa Reeves | October 15, 2025

Olde Town Arvada is officially opening a new designated drinking area, where adults can stroll through the city’s historic downtown with a beer, cocktail or glass of wine in hand.

To celebrate, the Olde Town Arvada Business Improvement District is throwing a community party on Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. in Olde Town Square at 5700 Olde Wadsworth Blvd. The event will feature a community toast at 6 p.m., free drink passes (while supplies last) and a chance to learn how the new program works. Organizers will have an info booth ready to answer questions — and maybe raise a glass or two.

“As part of our work to create a more vibrant Olde Town Arvada and support local businesses, we’ve created a designated drinking area,” said Kristin Chayer, president of the Olde Town Arvada Business Improvement District.

There will be a designated drinking area where people who are at least 21 years old may purchase and consume takeout beverages from eligible liquor-licensed businesses in Olde Town’s entertainment district while walking in the area.
