If you’re used to popping into Olde Town Arvada’s 22-year-old Grandview Tavern and Grill for a beer and a burger but haven’t been in recently, you may be surprised to see boiled peanuts, gumbo, and buttered grits now sharing the menu.
New (as of April) chef-owner Jeremy Wolgamott grew up in Washington Park and now lives in Arvada, but he spent much of the intervening 27 years in Louisiana. One of his first restaurant jobs was frying hushpuppies at Don’s Seafood in Baton Rouge at 17; from there he moved to New Orleans, where he mastered Creole, Cajun, and Southern cuisine in several lauded eateries. After moving his family back to Colorado in 2022, Wolgamott met the Grandview’s previous owner, Alec Tyrell, who was ready to sell. The turnkey space, with its Old West–style bar and recent renovations, was too good to pass up (plus, it’s just a 10-minute walk from Wolgamott’s house).
